KATE JOSEPH

Welcome
I am an experienced BACP registered Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor based in Dalston and Hackney, London.
On this website you'll find information about my offerings, training and experience, as well as practicalities such as fees and contact details.
Please do get in touch if you have questions or would like to arrange an initial consultation.

Therapy
I offer individual talking therapy both online and from my practice room in Haggerston and Dalston, London.
As an Integrative therapist I offer a tailored approach, adapting to fit the individual needs and circumstances of each client. I am trained to draw from a range of evidence based approaches, including CBT, mindfulness, existential, person centred, somatic and psychodynamic therapies.
My approach is warm, flexible and collaborative. I see therapy as a two-way relationship in which the therapist and client are partners. My primary focus is building a trusting therapeutic relationship where clients feel safe to explore whatever brings them to therapy.
I offer short term, medium or long term work, depending on your circumstances and hopes for therapy.
If you are interested but unsure whether counselling and psychotherapy is right for you, or would like to ask any questions please feel free to get in touch. I offer a initial 15 minute telephone/video call free of charge to answer your questions before booking a first session.
The first session will then be an opportunity to discuss what brings you to therapy, how we might work together, and crucially whether you feel comfortable working together. If you decide if you'd like to go ahead with more sessions we will then agree logistics, such as frequency and time.
If for any reason I’m not able to help, I always aim to offer alternative referral options.
Training and Experience
I have over 7 years experience in mental health and therapeutic services across NHS, private, third sector settings.
I have worked with a broad client-base of all ages and walks of life, but have particular experience working with families in the perinatal period (please see my Perinatal Page for details) and supporting women effected by domestic violence.
